Whats up with NovTek now?

The NYC tapes are still being made!

The time since the convention has been difficult for everyone in many different ways. In our neck of the woods, have been shaken down too. Julie's uncle passed away from a heart attack following a series of strokes. Although they were close, the family political complications following his passing have been the real life complicating factor surrounding this event. Julie's father suffers from choroideremia which is a genetic condition which degrades his vision in a manner similar to tunnelvision. However, with choroideremia, it is not limited to the tunnel wall, but rather can go across the center of the field of vision as well. As the condition progresses, he is going blind. The strain on her and her mother over this is not making matters any better. As I said, it was a genetic condition, therefore there is a 50/50 chance that Critter will have it too. Julie is a carrier but wimen do not suffer from its effects. As for NovTek, a sharp drop in business following 911 forced us to make further convertions to complete a change over to a completely digital facility. Thereby removing the barb on any edge our compeditors may have over us. What this means is that there more expensive pieces of equipment with more features that can go wrong, and more computers with even more bugs. It is an undertaking to get the entire system to work in harmony. However, as the harmony is coming into tune, the music is starting to sound quite lovely.

As for the convention albums, they are being done on the new system because the old system is dismantled. The new system still has a fwe bugs to work out as I write this, but we are still continuing to forge ahead and keep things moving. We just got the system back a week ago after having it sent back to the manufacturer for corrective action to a naughty behavior. The manufacturer kept it for 3 months and when we got it back, most of the work we had done was erased. Infuriating doesn't quite do my emotional state justice. However, it is not in anyone's best interest to expend energy being enraged, but rather to channel that ennergy into rebuilding the lost information and completing the album set.

Ron has been instrumental in getting the work cranked out. He has expended hours, and now duplicate hours to get it done. I have confidence we will be reaching the end of this tunnel shortly, possibly by the end of the month. I thank everyone in our extended Beast family for being so very patient.

I know I have not been doing as good keeping this page current, but I will try to do better. Jordan continues to add new dimensions to life as he now leaves his play-pen whenever he wants. So, nothing is safe anymore.
